The Voice Inside is an inspiring TV series for the next generation. Succeeding against all odds, people of all abilities learn one truth: my limits made me limitless. Based on true stories, the series features resilient characters who inspire teens and young adults to reach their highest potential.
With three episodes already aired on South Florida PBS, new episodes are currently in development. Working to expand from local to global impact, ATP is committed to changing how youth around the world view mental health and their own internal strength.
The Voice Inside stars resilient teens & young adults who come to realize this: “If you change your voice inside, you can change your life. And if you change your life, you could change the world.”
The series gives profound insight into the perspectives of those with autism and how they overcome obstacles. And it also portrays how people face other challenges, such as trauma recovery, financial hardships, evading trafficking schemes, running away, grief, dyslexia, and just the fear of growing up.
So far, our pilot episode was awarded “Best TV Show Pilot” at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, was a finalist at the New York International Film Awards, and was selected by the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, Mental Health Warrior Film Festival and Naked Mountain International Film Festival.
A non-speaking girl dreams that the “talking children” on the playground can hear the voice inside her head. In this dream world, her life story unfolds through music and dance—revealing her struggles, strengths, and spirit. Moved by her journey, the other children begin to share their own stories. Together, they discover they are more alike than different. In the end, the “talking children” help the girl believe in herself and the power she holds to make a difference in the real world.
Our play has been showcased at Carnegie Mellon University, Actors’ Playhouse Miracle Theater, Miami Children’s Theater, and Teatro della Pergola in Florence, Italy.
Our proudest moment? Hearing children in the audience say In the Life of a Child helped them see that, at heart, we are all the same.
